Jess tells the story of her mum as a single parent, struggling to make ends meet whilst providing a loving, caring home. Jess tackles several difficult subjects - loyalty, responsibility, truthfulness, friendship and parental respect when a new adult, Sean, comes into the established life she has forged with her mum. Sean is an old admirer of Tracy from Dumping Ground days. Now he is a recently retired and very rich football star and he invites Tracy and Jess to move out of their tiny but homely council flat into his palatial mansion. It raises the question for Jess of when does a house become a home?
Panel includes actors Dani Harmer (Tracy), Emma Maggie Davies (Jess) and Jordan Duvigneau (Sean), director John McKay, executive producer Spencer Campbell and writer Emma Reeves, who has adapted Jacqueline Wilson’s book of the same name.
My Mum Tracy Beaker launches on CBBC and iPlayer on Friday 12 February. There are 3 x 30 minute episodes, which will be re-versioned into a 90 minute mini movie.
