Wednesday, 27 January 2021 - 6:00pm
Online, Online
Zoom Webinar
At this practical session, a panel of programme makers will discuss the craft of making shows for a specific part of a TV schedule, for a daily dedicated audience of millions, after the year in which the nation has been at home more than ever before.
This event is closed for new bookings.

In 2021, BAFTA will introduce a new Daytime category into the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards, to recognise the important role that daytime programming plays in the lives of viewers and in providing a pipeline for new and underrepresented talent.

Daytime TV is booming, in terms of ratings and content, with a wealth of shows on offer from live studio, to factual, formats, drama and game shows. The panel will discuss how to manage long running and successful stalwarts of the schedule, as well as the challenge of landing a winning, volume heavy format that audiences devour and are endeared to. Other areas covered will include how to be clever with the budget and create distinctive, accessible content that attracts a broad audience, as well as this part of the TV day being a place for programme makers to experiment and resonate, plus the secrets behind the shows that move into prime-time.
