Young BAFTA Showcase: Family Day

Drop in throughout the day to our 2024 Young BAFTA Showcase for a host of activities, workshops, presentations and photo opps aimed at inspiring young people to explore their creativity.

Drop in between 11am and 4pm to our 2024 Young BAFTA Showcase for a host of activities, workshops, presentations and photo opps aimed at inspiring young people to explore their creativity.

PRESENTATIONS
Princess Anne Theatre

We will be running a series of presentations throughout the day with Horrible Histories, MC Grammar and more. Seating is unallocated and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Presentation timings can be found below. 

11.15am – 12pm - ACTING: In Conversation with Dominique Moore
12.30pm – 1.15pm - COSTUME & DESIGN: In Conversation with Horrible Histories
1.45pm – 2.30pm - RAP & WORDPLAY: In Conversation with MC Grammar
2.45pm – 3.30pm - ANIMATION: In Conversation with Director, Simone Giampaolo

ACTIVITIES
☆ Come up with your own game concept through our Young Game Designer workshops and receive feedback from industry experts (you’ll also have the chance to discuss turning ideas into a playable game)
☆ Present from autocue and see yourself on screen
☆ Create a SpongeBob SquarePants promo with the creative team from Nickelodeon
☆ Learn about the creative side of Horrible Histories
And for our younger audience…colouring/activity sheets will be available!

☆ Cartoon Network – play the Gumball Paintball game with others and meet Gumball for photos!
☆ Tt Games – the team behind LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and LEGO DC Super Villains

Children under 15 require an adult chaperone to attend with them but young people aged 15 and over can attend by themselves.

Getting to the Venue

By tube

Green Park is the nearest accessible step-free station and is served by the Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria lines. 0.3 miles to 195 Piccadilly entrance. The accessible entrance is from the park at the rear of the station.

Piccadilly Circus Station is served by the Piccadilly and Bakerloo Line Services. Leicester Square Station is served by the Piccadilly and Northern Line Services. Both stations are accessed by steps only.

By train

London Charing Cross has step-free access to all platforms. 0.7 miles to 195 Piccadilly entrance. Staff are available to assist with ramps between the platform and the train.

By bus

There are bus stops located on Regent Street/St James's Street, Piccadilly, Regent Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, Coventry Street and Haymarket. All London buses have ramp access and dedicated spaces for wheelchair users.

Nearest car park

The Cavendish London Public Car Park – 0.1 miles to 195 Piccadilly entrance.

JustPark Car Park – 0.5 miles to 195 Piccadilly entrance.

Nearest Blue Badge Parking

  • Jermyn Street: near Crockett & Jones, 1 space (0.05miles)
  • Sackville Street: near corner of Piccadilly, 2 spaces (0.06miles)
  • Saint James's Square: on street, 2 spaces (0.08miles)
  • Jermyn Street: near Tesco, 1 space (0.09miles)
