Learn more about Young Game Designers, BAFTA’s initiative for 10-18 years olds interested in game design and making. Presenter Ben Shires hosts a conversation featuring an industry expert and a YGD alumni providing insights into the initiative and more general games advice. You’ll get top tips for your entry; hear what the judges are looking for; find out about the YGD finalist experience and how it helps to profile you to the industry plus Q&A opportunities.

Host, Ben Shires: Ben Shires is a television presenter, radio host and comedian. You may have seen him on Sky Kids’ Dig Detectives, CBBC’s Officially Amazing, The Dog Ate My Homework and All Over the Place. Ben also presents on Heart Yorkshire radio channel.

BAFTA YGD Alumni, Tyler Rotheram: Since being nominated for a YGD BAFTA Award, Tyler has been making a name for himself working in both indie and AAA companies like PlayStation and Sumo Digital. Currently, he works as a Junior Games Designer at Silver Rain Games whilst completing his university studies.

Industry Practitioner, Meg Clarke: Meg is currently a Game Scout for the award-winning British games publisher Team17, helping indie developers secure support and funding for their games. Meg has a background working in Games Production and Audio for nearly ten years working on games such as the Warhammer 40k: Darktide, Demon’s Souls, Forza Horizon 5, Vermintide 2 and Supermassive’s Dark Pictures Anthology.
